Full Of Holes
Gabe’s surgery last night went without a hitch. He’s now leaking various fluids through three separate drains – one from his pancreas, one from the chest, and one from the pericardium. Everything looks good, even though he’s in quite a bit of pain. Despite the pain, he slept for a solid five or six hours last night which is a great improvement after days of intermittent short naps. Physical therapy has been called off for today which I’m sure he appreciates. He is going on a liquid diet today, featuring a lot of cranberry juice for kidney health, along with more jello. His fever is down, and vitals are good.
Spoke to my Dad this morning – he wanted to send out his appreciation again for everyone’s support, and asks that if anyone was planning to come visit today that they hold off for a day or two so Gabe can rest.

I am SOO glad to hear the surgery went well and that this should fix the fluid build up! You certainly earned a day off of therapy
Mike, Ann, Jason, Gabe, Pete, and Brooke keep the faith and humor. I am praying for eveyone’s strength and Gabe’s continued recovery.
Prayers, Laughs, and my Love,

A man drinking cranberry juice? What next, a mamogram? Ask them for a sea breeze next time. Love to all. Susan and Max
What great news! I am so happy to hear surgery went smoothly, and it sounds like the doctors know what they’re doing to treat your symptoms and get your internal organs back in working order.
If it were up to Grandpa Holom, you’d be drinking vodka with a splash of cranberry juice.
Love,
Gina
I’m sorry you had to have the surgery and regret you are so uncomfortable. We check in on the site every day. I was heartened to see a small smile in a recent photo but I am especially enamored of the one with the scabby nose.
Cranberry juice with vodka and a splash of orange juice is called a madras and is quite refreshing. If you are really in touch with your feminine side, ask them to make it a cosmo.
Thinking of all three of you every day,
Nancy
thank you for the updates. hang in there gabe. it will get better!
Gabe,
I’m glad to see you are already doing better. Don’t ever give up – it may just look difficult at the moment. I remember spending many days beside when my wife had 2 liver transplants. Today she is doing wonderful and is very active and healthy again. Just hang in there and get well!

Gabe~
So glad to hear that the day of surgery went so well!
I agree with the above comments of adding vodka to your cranberry juice…make it Indiana vodka
It’s good to see the pictures of you–you are so brave!
Keep up the hard work~
Cheryl
You are in my thoughts EVERY DAY! See you soon, Josh.

Gabe,
You were such a little guy when we last saw you. Mike and I have been reading this update every day. Please know that you continue to be on many prayer lists here in Central Illinois. Neither time nor distance can diminish the love we have for the Jordan family. Please rest, heal, and know that you are surrounded by divine love 24/7.
Love,
Mike & Helen Claver
Keep fighting man. Hope to see you soon!!!!!
Gabe, I’m glad to know that the surgery went well. My thoughts are with you and your family. Julie

Derek and I are keeping you in our prayers. Hang in there!!! We are so glad to hear that you are making good progress. You have lots of people pulling for you!! Pete, your updates are great!. Keep them coming.
Gabe
So glad to hear your second surgery did well and you are making good progress. Know your physical therapy road will not be an easy one but keep up the humor and the faith and you will make it through & if it takes a little Indiana vodka in the cranberry juice – go for it. Love the pictures (Peter, you are doing an awesome job of keeping us all updated). Now, for the scabby nose picture – sure reminds me of the Rixstine, Jordan & Witt camping trip we took to Racoon Lake when all you kids were little and we were all hiking in the back woods- think there were several scabby noses and knees.
We send our prayers and love to you & family.
So many prayers being sent your way by so many people. Keep up the good fight man! Also just wanted you to know that Anthony covered your story again on his radio show this morning. Gu in the AM 91.3 WHJE Carmel-HS. 6am-7:30 every Friday. Asking for people to go to your site and to go to Chase or on-line to make a donation. He’s keeping his listeners up to date on your condition as well. Look out CNN! Also heard back from America’s Most Wanted yesterday, they’ve received my letter and will be in touch. Hopefully it won’t be long and these animals will be in a cage where they belong!
Our Prayers and love to you, Brooke, Ezra, and the entire family.
Mike and Anthony (aka Gu)
Gabe,
I think about you and say a few prayers every single day! I’m sorry you had to have yet another surgery but glad to hear it was successful. It sounds like you have a lot of hard work ahead of you, but you have that beautiful Sunshine of yours and your little ray of Sunshine to keep fighting for. Keep that reunion with Ezra in your sights; I’d love to be a fly on the wall for that moment.
Peace and Love,
Julie
Gabe,
I’m so glad to hear that the surgery went well. Thank you again Pete for all the up dates.
You are all in our thoughts- Katie
Hi Gabe, sounds like it’s been quite a week. Who knew that leaking various bodily fluids would be a sign of progress! Enjoy the respite from PT; the folks at Gitmo have nothing on those physical therapists.
We’re hoping that you and Ezra will be sharing jello soon.
Take care,
Shonagh and Tony
